'Nutcracker' Contest: We Have a Winner

A Baldwin Borough mother and son win two tickets to a Pittsburgh Ballet production of the holiday favorite.

Jeffrey and his mother, Cristy, of Baldwin Borough, have won a pair of tickets to an upcoming holiday production of "The Nutcracker" by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Cristy's picture of Jeffrey standing next to nutcracker statue was chosen at random from among 13 entries in Patch's "Nutcracker Tradition" photo contest.

Recognized as one of the most popular ballets of all time, "The Nutcracker" is a holiday classic based on a German tale written by E.T.A. Hoffmann and set to the iconic score of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
