This school was the cradle of learning for many prominent South Hills people. The class picture is of students attending in 1895.
After over half of a century of teaching reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic, the school building was declared to have outlived its usefulness and was sold at a public auction.
In one of the pictures seen above, you'll notice that the building needed to be propped up by wooden poles at one point. The building was razed in 1929, and a new school of the same name was built nearby.
