In 1912, a jitney service was available in the then-Baldwin Township area.

John Lachman started a bus line from the Globe Hotel to the Bruceton Hotel, enabling workers to reach mines. At that period of time, the local streetcar line ended at the Globe Hotel.

The jitney service was called the Auto Transfer Bus, and soon, the company had to put another bus to work.
