Whitehall's 4th-Grade Golf Prodigy To Play Augusta

And not only is Michael Quallich playing Augusta, he'll do so during Masters week next year.

WHITEHALL, PA - When it comes to golfing, most duffers would like a swing as sweet as that of Whitehall Elementary fourth grader Michael Quallich. How good is he? Michael will be doing something next spring that most golf fans can only dream about: playing Augusta during Masters week.

Michael will be there to participate in the finals of the PGA’s Drive, Chip and Putt program. Organized by the Masters, United States Golf Association and the PGA of America, the nationwide junior golf development competition aims to grow the game by focusing on the three fundamental requirements to excel at it.

In July, Michael finished second in the local round, advancing to the subregional at Mystic Rock where he also finished second. He moved on to the Sept. 8 regional event in Dublin, Ohio, where he came in first in his age group and clinched the trip to Augusta.
