5 Bensalem Township Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season
With the giving season nearly here, Patch readers should check out some of these local non-profit groups while considering local donations.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — If you’re like many of your Bensalem Township neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.
Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.
Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the Bensalem Township area.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:
- Women's Animal Center —Women's Animal Center, America's First Animal Shelter, provides a variety of vital services to the pets and people in the Bucks County community including pet adoptions, a veterinary hospital, dog training, community programs, human education, and a pet food pantry for families in need.
- Building a Better Bensalem Together—Founded in 1998, Building a Better Bensalem Together (B3T) is a volunteer community coalition that plans, and organizes, and participates in various events, activities, and programs throughout the community. Unity Week is one of the organization's biggest events.
- Bensalem Business Association —The Bensalem Business Association provides networking opportunities in and around Bensalem Township. This includes assisting to grow the business community and fostering communications within the community.
- United Way of Bucks County —The county organization offers a Help Center, emergency assistance, emergency food and shelter, its Bucks Knocks Out Hunger program, Stuff the Bus, and pre-K counts, among other programs.
- Bucks County Free Library —The Bensalem branch of the Bucks County Free Library offers plenty of programs for adults and children along with resources and events besides books.
