$9.4M In Damage To Bucks Co. Public Infrastructure After Ida
County, state, and federal emergency agencies are reviewing damage to public and private infrastructure to determine funding possibilities.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Hundreds of Bucks County homes and business have reported damages so far from the flooding and tornadoes that marked the remnants of Hurricane Ida in the region. No dollar figure has yet been attached to these individual damage reports.
Based on county data compiled Tuesday, a preliminary tally puts the storm's impact to public infrastructure at $9.4 million. Public infrastructure includes roads, bridges, and public property like parks and government buildings.
All told, on Sep. 2 Bucks was hit by three tornadoes and more than 10 inches of water in some locations, with widespread flooding and water rescues needed throughout the county.

By Wednesday afternoon, Bucks County Emergency Management Agency had received more than 350 reports of damage from residents and businesses through its online damage reporting form, including 64 reports of major damage. These numbers are likely to change as more information is collected, officials said.
A combination of public and private damage assessments will help the Federal Emergency Management Agency make determinations about whether Individual Assistance funds might be awarded in Pennsylvania and in the county.

FEMA assessors began Preliminary Damage Assessments in Bucks County on Wednesday, led by Bucks EMA and joined by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. The teams toured nearly 100 properties with reported damage on Wednesday.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to report storm-related damage to the municipality in which the damage occurred. Alternatively, damage can be reported directly to the county online. Municipalities should report damage to Bucks County EMA.
