BENSALEM, PA — The African American Museum of Bucks County will be hosting a fundraiser at Parx Casino to finance the renovation and refurbishing of their new location at Boone Farm.

The event, billed as the 'Building Our Dream' cocktail reception, will be a source of funds for the organization to refurbish two buildings on the Boone Farms estate in Middletown Township. This will be the first permanent location for the organization, who have mostly operated on a mobile basis to bring history to the area.

The museum, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, has shared the important history of African Americans in the area for years. Their goal is to honor "the legacy of the African American experience, inspiring pride in our heritage, educating about the diverse journey of our people, sharing stories that depict our shared ancestry, thus enriching the lives of Bucks County families." according to their website.
