Bensalem Family Adopts Son’s Best Friend: ‘A Real Brother’

Their "soccer family," 52 people strong, came out to the courthouse to celebrate the adoption being finalized.

BENSALEM, PA — Rita Marlow and Seth Lentchner adopted Nate, their son’s friend from soccer for more than nine years, on July 13.

Their families had become close — when Nate was removed from his home in 2016, he asked to come live with them. The following years were tumultuous. Though he was placed in their home, adoption proceedings moved slowly. But Marlow told Today.com that he maintained a desire to be a part of their family.

Then, in November of last year and after Nate had spent almost five years in foster care, they got a phone call from his caseworker.
