Bensalem GIANT Grocery Store Will Undergo Big Renovations

The grocery store is updating offerings in a variety of departments and adding a consultation room to its pharmacy.

BENSALEM, PA — Major renovations are underway at the GIANT grocery store at 2721 Street Road in Bensalem, the company announced. The remodel is expected to be completed by mid-fall.

“Today’s families are busy, and we want to offer solutions to help them simplify their grocery shopping experience,” said Robert Wagner, GIANT store manager. “From updating our current departments to offering more product variety, we want to inspire Bensalem customers with fresh ideas and help them [spend] more time connecting together with their family over a meal.”

The remodel will include new modernized decor both inside and outside the store, the company said. The store’s fresh offerings will be completely updated with an expanded farm fresh produce department, all new floral, meat, seafood, and bakery departments, and enhanced prepared food offerings.

The pharmacy is getting a refresh, with the addition of a consultation room to administer vaccines and speak with the pharmacist in a more private setting. Also receiving an update is the current Beer & Wine Eatery, which will have more variety in produce. In addition, Bensalem customers will be able to enjoy a new in-store Starbucks, featuring a full menu of both hot and cold handcrafted beverages and snacks.

Currently open from 6 a.m. – 11 p.m., the Bensalem GIANT opened in 2000 and employs approximately 215 team members.

For greater shopping convenience during the remodel, Bensalem customers have the option to use GIANT DIRECT, an opportunity to order groceries online for easy curbside pick-up or delivery.

This store remodel is part of a $114 million investment in capital expenditures announced by the GIANT Company last year. GIANT plans to create an innovative GIANT DIRECT ecommerce fulfillment center, open two new stores, and remodel 35 existing Pennsylvania stores through the end of 2021.

With this investment, GIANT is growing its commitment to the city of Philadelphia, its home market in Central Pennsylvania, and Monroe County.
