Bensalem Twp. Declares Disaster Emergency In Affect

Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo signed the official declaration to be put into effect immediately.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Bensalem Township Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo declared a duster emergency in the face of incoming weather on Jan. 28.

In an official declaration signed by the Mayor, it was written that incoming snowstorm Kenan "is expected to cause or threatens to cause injury, damage, and suffering to the persons and property of Bensalem Township (...)".

As such, emergency management measures have been put in place to mitigate the severity of all potential damages caused by the storm.

In the same document, the Mayor said he will direct "the Bensalem Emergency Management Coordinator to coordinate the activities of the emergency response, to take all appropriate action needed to alleviate the effects of this disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any other emergency response actioned deemed necessary to respond to this disaster emergency."

The declaration will take effect immediately, according to the document.
