BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County will be observing National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 24.

There will be 46 sites throughout the county open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for people to safely dispose of unused and unneeded medications.

Officials call medication just sitting around a safety issue, saying that more than half the people who abuse prescription pain relievers get the drugs from friends or relatives. Prescription and over-the-counter drugs are considered the most commonly misused substances by Americans 14 and older, after marijuana and alcohol.
