Projections say the Delaware River could rise above its flood stage on Friday evening. Read on for more details and the weather forecast.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Lower Bucks County is facing another foreboding forecast on Friday. With heavy rains and high winds on the horizon, the National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Warning for Lower Bucks and several other counties in southeastern Pennsylvania.
The warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday. Water levels along the Delaware River could crest at 11.5 feet around 10 p.m., according to a National Weather Service gauge in Burlington, New Jersey, near where the Delaware River borders Bristol and Croydon.
This could tip things into the territory of "major" flooding, since the area's flood stage is a depth of 9.3 feet.

According to the weather service's report, areas throughout the region could see between two and three feet of water inundation in low-lying areas near shorelines and along tidal waterways. The main impacts are expected around high tide this evening.
Flooding could become severe enough to cause some structural damage as well as widespread roadway flooding near tidal waterways. The weather service said some locations could become isolated due to floodwaters.
