Some call it Doughnut Day. Others say Faschnaut Day or Fat Tuesday. It's the day before the Christian Lent observance starts and a big day for doughnuts no matter what you call it. Faschnaut Day is a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition for using up the lard, butter and sugar in your pantry before the Lenten fast.
