Growden Mansion Seeks Antique Furniture After Renovations
The historic Bensalem Township mansion is rumored to be where Benjamin Franklin flew his kite.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —It's a place rumored to be where Benjamin Franklin flew a kite.
The Growden Mansion —also known as the Trevose Manor —needs some help.
The mansion, operated as a museum by the Historical Society of Bensalem Township, is seeking donations of antique or antique-looking pieces to furnish the newly renovated rooms in the historic mansion.

"Bensalem Township is taking every step to preserve this historic site," officials said. "As appreciation for your donation, placards with your name will be displayed in the mansion."
The mansion includes an outbuilding called "The Vault" where the early deeds and county records, as well as Franklin's papers used to be stored.

Anyone who may have antique or antique-looking furniture that you would like to donate, please send photos to parks@bensalempa.gov. The township will pick up the furniture if it meets the needs of the museum.
