'Happy Pawlidays Party' Thursday At Women's Animal Center
America's first animal shelter is holding the holiday event at its center in Bensalem Township Thursday afternoon.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —There's Happy Holidays and then there is "Happy Pawlidays."
The Women’s Animal Center is hosting a "Happy Pawlidays Party" from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its center at 3839 Richlieu Rd. For more information, call 215-750-3100.
America's First Animal Shelter said children of all ages —who are accompanied by a parent and/or guardian —are invited for a fun-filled afternoon of decorating treats to be given to the shelter dogs waiting for their forever homes and reading to the Center’s adoptable shelter cats and small pets as part of the Center’s Story Tails Reading Program.

Children can decorate dog cookies using dog-safe icing and ingredients that will be given as special treats to the shelter dogs.
The kids can also participate in Story Tails reading sessions with shelter cats and small pets (rabbits and guinea pigs).

Story Tails provides children the opportunity to practice their reading skills and to spend time socializing with a shelter pet awaiting adoption.
Women’s Animal Center is also welcoming and accepting donations of items for the basic care of the shelter pets.
High priority ‘supply the shelter’ wish list items include soft cat and dog treats, small animal food, cat toys, laundry detergent, dawn dish soap, towels (new and used/clean), canned dog food (unopened and unexpired), pet bed heating pads, Kuranda dog beds. Click here to see the full wish list.
Fees to participate in Happy Pawlidays Party activities are $5 per dog treat to decorate and $5 per Story Tails Reading Session. For more information, email: education@womensanimalcenter.org.
