Heavy Smoke Found In Fire At Bensalem Church
Bensalem Township fire crews responded to a fire at Our Lady of Fatima on Street Road over the weekend.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Heavy smoke was found in a fire at the Our Lady of Fatima church over the weekend, fire officials said.
The Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department responded at 12:17 p.m. Sunday to the 2900 block of Street Road for a building fire at Our Lady of Fatima church.
Fire crews reported smoke showing from the building with a fire found in a storage closet inside the church, with a possible extension to the roof area.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, but crews found heavy smoke throughout the large church and school.
"The roof and windows were temporarily secured on Sunday," the church said. "Fantastic job by the Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department - Station 65 responding and preventing what could have been a much worse tragedy."

The Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Penndel Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 8 Feasterville Fire Company Croydon Fire Company , Bensalem EMS, and the Lower Southampton Fire Department No.1.
