8 People Rescued From Bucks Co. Fire By 'Heroic' Police Officer
A Penndel police officer's actions saved several people's lives during a Thursday morning house fire, the police chief said.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The heroic actions of a Penndel police officer saved the lives of eight people during a house fire early Thursday morning, the borough's police chief said.
Lower Bucks County fire crews battled a fire on Woodland Avenue at a 2.5-story duplex with heavy fire from one side of the home.
Penndel Borough Police Chief Sean Perry said that Police Officer Sean Peck responded to the fire at 4:40 a.m. Thursday and "immediately jumped into action."

"Recognizing the imminent danger to the occupants, Officer Peck entered the home despite the fire and heavy smoke conditions," the police chief said. "His swift and courageous efforts led to the successful evacuation of eight individuals."
Perry said Peck showed "exceptional bravery and decisive actions," saying his immediate response "prevented what could have been a tragic loss of life."

Perry said that while the home's occupants got out safely, they are dealing with hardship and trauma from the fire.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
The police department, in coordination with fire services and emergency management partners, is working to help the displaced families.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Bensalem fire crews assisted the Penndel Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 8 with the fire.
