BENSALEM, PA — It's kitten season.

Litters of abandoned and orphaned baby kittens —newborns to less than 6 weeks old — are being brought to the Women’s Animal Center needing specialized care to survive, thrive, and grow.

The center is in urgent need of dedicated ‘Kitten Foster Parents’ to help with bottle-feeding the shelter kittens and caring for them in their homes until they are ready to be adopted into loving forever homes.

The Kitten Shower will also feature cat-themed games and activities. Donations of kitten supplies from the kitten registry are appreciated, and anyone who brings a donation to the Kitten Shower will be entered into a raffle to win a basket of cat toys.

KMR formula, Bottles/Nipples for kitten feeding and Snugglesafe heating discs are especially needed and can be found on the Center’s Kitten Shower Registry: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wish...

Women’s Animal Center will provide a training session to help volunteers be successful foster parents as well as a ‘Foster Starter Kit’ with kitten care supplies.

"While fostering is a temporary commitment, it truly is a lifesaving one. Foster Parents are essential for young kittens who are too young, small, and fragile to survive without the attention, support, and compassionate care of dedicated volunteers," center officials said. "By signing up to foster today, foster volunteers can ensure enough homes will be ready as kittens arrive at Women’s Animal Center in the coming weeks and months. The community’s help can make a big difference in these little ones’ lives."
