Lab Evacuated After Hazmat Incident In Bensalem

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A lab was evacuated Tuesday following the report of a Hazmat incident, authorities said.

The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Department responded at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday to Veloia Water Technologies on Somerton Road for a fire alarm activation.

Upon arrival, crews were advised of a hazardous materials incident that occurred in a lab that caused the fire alarm activation.

Crews evacuated the building and Battalion 222 established Bensalem Command.

Hazmat Units from Bucks County and DOW Chemical Emergency Response were requested to respond to the scene.

Hazmat crews determined a reaction that caused the release was complete and the facility was turned back over to representatives from Veloia Water Technologies.

No injuries were reported.
