Local Competition Sees Bensalem K9 Unit Receive Top Honors
The K9 Unit of the Bensalem Police Department received trophies in the categories of Obedience, Agility, Search, and Apprehension.
BENSALEM, PA — The Bensalem Police Department's K9 Unit won multiple trophies at the United States Police K-9 Associations Region 6 competition over the weekend.
The competition was held over a two day period in multiple locations in Montgomery County. Over 20 K9 units from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey took part in the event, showcasing the skills of their police dogs.
The police department was represented by Officer Robert Schwarting, who was accompanied by K9 Bowie, Officer Sean Hayden accompanied by K9 Nero, and Officer Kevin Howard accompanied by K9 Jango.

Bensalem's K9 Unit won the overall top unit trophy. Schwarting and Bowie won top K9 team, with Bowie also receiving Top dog in the whole competition.
Various officers and K9s from the unit received trophies in the categories of Obedience, Agility, Search, and Apprehension.

Schgwarting and Bowie won first place in Obedience, Agility, and Apprehension, with Hayden and Nero coming in second for Obedience. Howard and Jango came in first place for Search and second for Apprehension.
