Mom Gets Probation, Casino Banishment for Leaving Kids in Car
She played the slots for hours.
Sharon Balek, 35, of Philadelphia, was sentenced Monday to two years of probation and banned from Pennsylvania casinos for leaving her two daughters in the parking lot at while she played slot machines for over six hours.
According to a story on PhillyBurbs.com, Balek pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment.
She was charged when her two girls, ages 16 and 8, were located outside Parx around 1 a.m. Officers tracked down Balek, who had been inside the casino playing slot machines since around 6:30 p.m., the story stated.
