Parx Cancels Horse Racing For 2 Weeks

Coronavirus concerns led to the decision, officials at the racetrack said.

BENSALEM, PA — Parx Racing in Bensalem is canceling live horse races for two weeks in response to the spread of the new coronavirus.

Officials at the racetrack and casino made the announcement late Friday. It came in response to recommendations by the Pennsylvania government to cancel or postpone large events to help slow the spread of the virus, known as COVID-19.

"We will continue to monitor recommendations made, and comply with any instructions and directions provided by government agencies," Parx officials said in a news release.
