Perri Warms the Hearts of Hometown Crowd

Now she doesn't have to waitress anymore.

A review of Christina Perri’s Saturday night sell-out show at the Tower Theater on Philly.com called her vocals “coolly soulful and reminiscent of Sara Bareilles.”

Not very long ago, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter was waitressing in Los Angeles, but all that changed when she caught a break by getting a song on “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Perri had a heartwarming homecoming. According to the story, the Bensalem native’s appearance was less like a concert and more like an “Italian holiday dinner with friends.”

“It was hard to beat the joy found in that audience - but Perri managed to from the second she hit the stage,” the story stated.

She opened for British pop star James Blunt.

When she finished her hit song “Jar of Hearts” to a standing ovation, she thanked all who attended and said, “Now I don’t have to waitress anymore,” the review stated.
