Police Respond to Fatal Accident Involving Pickup Truck, Scooter
Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors.

On Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m., Bensalem police responded to the 2200 block of Street Road for a vehicle vs pedestrian accident.
Police said a Raymond Smith, of Bristol, was attempting to cross Street Road on a Jazzy scooter near the old Armstrong Middle School when a 1994 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 65-year-old Bensalem resident struck the jazzy and Smith was thrown to the north shoulder of the road.
Smith was transported to Aria-Torresdale. He was pronounced at 6:08 p.m. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors. The jazzy was not crossing within a crosswalk.
