Route 1 Roadwork To Cause Lane Closures
PennDOT said the work on the Lower Bucks County highway will last through Friday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that paving and line striping operations are planned on Route 1 under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in 1 Bensalem and Middletown townships.
Drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Aug. 15, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange for line striping.
- Monday, Aug. 11, through Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane closures with flagging will be in place on Rockhill Drive in both directions between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for line striping.
- From 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, to 6 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18, a lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 between Route 213 (Maple Avenue) and Old Lincoln Highway for bridge deck repair and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
