Seniors Offer Art Classes for Youngsters

Students can learn to draw and paint in July.

The Bensalem Senior Citizens Association will be providing summer art classes to Bensalem students free of charge.

Peter Fuhr, who teaches drawing and painting to senior citizens at the center, has started a summer intergenerational program.

The program will take place for four weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of July.  The schedule will be as follows:

  • Tuesday 9–10:30 a.m. — Beginners — Students going into 3rd & 4th grades
  • Tuesday 1-3 p.m. — Intermediate — Students going into 5th & 6th grades
  • Thursday 9–11 a.m. — Intermediate + — Students going into 7th & 8th grade
  • Thursday 1–3 p.m. — Advanced — High School Students

Classes will be limited to 6-8 students on a first come, first served basis.

Fuhr plans to cover a variety of drawing techniques and materials including still life and landscapes. The classes will be mingled with the senior citizens who will be working on their drawings and paintings at the same time.
