The search for the shooter continued Thursday morning, after the school was locked down at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

WARMINSTER, PA — The search continued Thursday morning for a gunman who fired at least two shots at a Bucks County high school on Wednesday evening.

William Tennent High School in Warminster was locked down at around 5 p.m. Wednesday after the shooting was reported. No students or school staff were harmed, according to Warminster Township Police.

Officers called to the school said witnesses told them a man got out of a gray sedan — possibly a Chevy Malibu — and chased a victim into the school's rear parking lot.

There, he fired at least two rounds from a semi-automatic handgun. A statement Wednesday night from police did not say how the shooter then escaped.

According to a letter to the school community from Tennent Principal Dennis Best, no students were involved in the shooting. The statement said "student-athletes and staff" were present at the time of the shooting, and that they were quickly moved inside as a precaution.

All students who were there were released to their parents and guardians once police secured the area, according to the school district.

"We greatly appreciate our partnership with the Warminster Police Department to best promote the safety of our students, staff and community," Best said.

Police shared security camera images Wednesday night of both the shooter and his car.

With the school locked down and neighbors asked to stay inside their homes, police searched the area around the school late into Wednesday evening.
