Township Schedules Street Sweeping

It’s that time of year when Bensalem Township begins cleaning our local roadways.

Street sweeping began Monday, April 4 and will continue through the spring and summer seasons.

Sweeping will be done Monday through Thursday with Fridays being used for equipment maintenance.

Here is the sweeper schedule:

WEEK #1 - April 4  - April 8
Areas north of Street Road, east of Lincoln Highway, south of Bristol Road and west of Hulmeville Road (Hidden Valley, Country Village Sections)
WEEK #2 - April 11  - April 15
Trevose, Oakford, Linconia and Concord Park Sections
WEEK #3- April 18  - April 22, 2010 (April 22, is a holiday; Township Closed)
Areas south of Street Road, west of Hulmeville Road and east of Lincoln Highway (Nottingham, Stanwood Sections)
WEEK #4 - April 25  - April 29
Areas north of Bristol Road and west of Hulmeville Road (Neshaminy Valley, Barnsleigh West and Belmont Hills Sections)
WEEK #5 - May 2  - May 6
Areas north of Bristol Road and west of Hulmeville Road (Neshaminy Valley & Springdale Sections. Due to the extreme size of this area, two weeks are needed to complete all streets.
WEEK #6 - May 9  - May 13
Areas north of Gibson Road and east of Hulmeville Road (Newport, Harvest Run West, Barnsleigh East and Salem Point Sections)
WEEK #7 - May 16  - May 20
Areas south of Street Road, north of Cornwells Avenue, east of Hulmeville Road and the Village Green Development (Eddington and Upper Cornwells Heights Sections)
WEEK #8 - May 23  - May 27
Areas north of Street Road, East of Hulmeville Road and south of Gibson Road (Brookwood, Woodridge East, Executive Park, Valley Meadows, Glen Ashton Farms, The Clusters, Timber Lane, The Coves and Millcreek Farms Sections). Township is closed on Monday, May 26, 2008 for the Memorial Day Holiday.
WEEK #9 - May 30  - June 3  (5/30/11 is Memorial Day; Township Closed)
Areas west of Bristol Pike and South of Cornwells Avenue (Andalusia West, Rywall Park and Lower Cornwells Heights Sections). 
WEEK #10 - June 6  - June 10
Areas north of Street Road and East of Bristol Pike (I-95 Industrial Park and all surrounding residential streets) The Township will be closed on Monday, May 28, 2007 to observe the Memorial Day Holiday
WEEK #11 - June 13  - June 17
Areas east of Bristol Pike and South of Street Road (Andalusia East, Echo Beach and Torresdale Manor Sections)

Once the entire schedule has been completed, the route starts over again at area #1.

Please keep cars off the streets whenever possible on weeks when the sweeper is scheduled in your neighborhood. This allows the equipment to clean curb to curb.
