
On June 9 at 7:45 p.m., Bensalem police responded to the 3600 block of State Road for a report of a one vehicle accident. Investigation found that a witness observed a black Ford Mustang traveling on Street Road towards State Road. The vehicle was driving erratically and at one point struck a curb in the area of Street R0ad and the I-95 ramps.
According to police, the vehicle continued on Street Road and turned on State Road towards Croydon. It lost control, went off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Both the driver, a 53-year-old Croydon resident, and his passenger, a 36-year-old male also from Croydon, had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel.

They were taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital by Bensalem EMS. The male passenger sustained head injuries and a possible broken spine. At this time Police suspect alcohol and or drugs may have played a factor in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Bensalem Police Accident Investigations Unit. Police are awaiting blood results to determine if in fact alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident.Â
