Update: Watch Out for Severe Thunderstorms, Tornado in Northern Bucks

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning, which remains in effect until 11 a.m. The Weather Service also said the storm is capable of producing a tornado in northern Bucks County.

The thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Bucks and Montgomery counties.

According to the Weather Service, this line of thunderstorms produced quarter-sized hail and damaging winds to 60 mph.

These are dangerous storms. If you are in their path prepare immediately for damaging winds large hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter preferably inside a strong building but away from windows, the Weather Service suggests.

A severe thunderstorm watch also remains in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon for much of eastern Pennsylvania.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 74. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 17 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 53. West wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: A slight chance of showers after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. West wind between 7 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Northwest wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind around 9 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
