PA Man Confessed To Shooting On Facebook Live: Reports
The man reportedly broadcasted himself holding a gun and discussing how he'd shot at his ex-girlfriend.
BETHLEHEM, PA — A Pennsylvania man broadcast himself on Facebook Live holding a gun and confessing to shooting at his ex-girlfriend, according to authorities and media reports.
Joseph Shankweiler Jr., 39, of Northampton, now faces charges of attempted homicide as well as numerous counts in connection to a lengthy chase with police in Lehigh County.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 31 on Main Street in Bethlehem, authorities said.

Shankweiler broke into his ex-girlfriend's home and fired a shot at her, breaking glass, police said. The gunshot whizzed near the woman's face, she told authorities. Shankweiler then fled the scene.
Lehigh Valley Live reports that Shankweiler published a 54-second video in which he gets out of a vehicle holding a gun, talking to another man.

“So I’m just going to tell you right now, I went over here and I (expletive) shot at her,” the outlet reports Shankweiler said. “I was so (expletive) disrespected.”
After Shankweiler fled, authorities were able to track him to Lower Macungie Township. He led them on a chase through the county but eventually stopped and was taken in custody, according to police.
A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
