1. LANTA to cancel some bus service starting next year, proposes fare increase (mcall.com) — LANTA is cutting several bus trips, including all weekday runs on Bethlehem’s Downtown Shuttle Route 601, and proposing fare hikes that could raise single rides to $2.50. A public meeting will be held Jan. 14 at 60 W. Broad St. in Bethlehem so riders can ask questions and comment before changes take effect in late January and March.
   

2. State Sen. Lisa Boscola announces over $4.6 million for local projects in Northampton County (wfmz.com) — More than $4.6 million in state grants is headed to Northampton County, with Bethlehem Township receiving several awards for ambulance upgrades, firefighter radios, police vehicles, and fire company equipment. Additional funding will support projects in nearby communities, from Easton pedestrian safety to Hellertown park improvements, potentially improving public safety and quality of life across the region.
   

3. Woman left kid in car while gambling at Wind Creek Casino Bethlehem, authorities say (lehighvalleylive.com) — A state gaming board report highlights another case of a child allegedly left alone while an adult gambled at Wind Creek casino in Bethlehem, leading to the adult’s placement on Pennsylvania’s Involuntary Exclusion List. The board detailed several similar incidents at other casinos statewide and fined a gaming manufacturer, while noting Wind Creek’s ongoing efforts to deter and detect unattended children on its property.
   

4. 2000s Rock Band Makes Exciting Music Festival Announcement (parade.com) — Bethlehem’s 2026 Musikfest is already taking shape, with Taking Back Sunday set to headline the Wind Creek Steel Stage on August 8 in their first Lehigh Valley show since 2014. The festival runs July 31–August 9 and will also feature John Mulaney, Train, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, Bailey Zimmerman, Parker McCollum, AJR and more, with tickets on sale through ArtsQuest.
