Bear-Nanza Surprise: Student Secures $10,000 Scholarship
Annual Open House Draws Prospective Students and Awards Scholarships

Attendees received guided tours of Harcum's classrooms, laboratories, and facilities, learned about the College from student panels, attended financial aid workshops, and met with academic advisors. The event’s highlight was the presentation of a $10,000 Bear-Nanza scholarship to Brenna Zaccaria. Zaccaria, an incoming student for the Dental Assisting with EFDA/Dental Hygiene Track program from Essington, had her name drawn at random from a pool of accepted and deposited students. The scholarship was presented by Tyler Gangi, Assistant Director of Admissions, alongside Hatcher the Bear, the school's beloved mascot.
In addition to the grand scholarship, the college also raffled off five $1,000 scholarships to support the academic journeys of randomly selected attendees. The recipients included Lydia Armstrong, Allied Health Science/Rad Tech prospect from Broomall, PA; Denasia Christy, Allied Health Science/ Rad Tech prospect from Downingtown, PA; Kayla Roze, Radiologic Technology prospect from Glenolden, PA; Abigail Tealey, Dental Assisting with EFDA/Dental Hygiene Track prospect from West Chester, PA; and Sariah White, Dental Assisting with EFDA prospect from Philadelphia, PA.
Rachel Bowen, Vice President of Enrollment Management, took a moment to acknowledge the contribution of student volunteers to the success of the event, stating, "Our student volunteers made this year's Bear-Nanza truly special. Their willingness to share personal Harcum experiences added that extra element, helping our visitors envision themselves here. I’d like to add a special thank you to the faculty who helped find the volunteers, and to Tyler Gangi for ensuring they were well-prepared for the day."
