Defendant Pleads Guilty to Assisting Radio Shack Armed Robbery

A Philadelphia man admitted to playing lookout while his partner threatened the store manager during a robbery in Lower Merion last year.

A Philadelphia man received sentence of time served to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to participating in an armed robbery of a Lower Merion Radio Shack last year, according to the Times Herald.

Latif Byard must also pay restitution of more than $20,000, along with his alleged partner Matthew Craig, and serve five years probation, according to the report.

Byard remains in jail, serving time for other offenses and awaiting trial for separate robbery cases.

According to reports, the defendants entered the Radio Shack on East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore on June 12 and forced the manager into the basement by gunpoint.

The robbers emptied cabinets of cell phones and earpieces before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
