ElderNet Of Lower Merion, Narberth Needs Volunteers

The local non-profit senior citizen organization is hosting an open house for potential volunteers next week.

BRYN MAWR, PA — Lower Merion and Narberth's main hub of support for local seniors is in need of some help to better serve the senior community.

ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth has put out a call for volunteers.

The Bryn Mawr-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1976 provides safety nets for older and disabled adults to help them stay in their homes with dignity and strengthens food and financial security for all community members in need of support.

In an effort to get volunteers involved in its support, ElderNet is hosting an open house for potential volunteers from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the Ludington Library.

Volunteers are needed to help with providing rides to doctor's appointments, assisting with grocery shopping, odd jobs around homes, doing companionship visits and phone calls, and lending hands at the food pantry.
