Lower Merion Commissioner Reveals Resignation Date

Jenny Brown will resign her seat on the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners on May 31.

Lower Merion Commissioner Jenny Brown will vacate her seat on the board effective May 31, according to Main Line Media News.

The announcement comes almost two months after Brown announced her decision not to finish her four-year term as representative for the township’s Ward 2.

According to Main Line Media News, the township will begin accepting applications and conducting interviews with residents interested in filling the seat for the remainder of the year. The vote for a permanent replacement to finish the term’s final two years will be part of the Nov. 3 general election. Interested candidates are advised to contact their local party’s committee.

Brown, a Republican, was first elected Lower Merion commissioner in 2007 and successfully ran for re-election in 2013.
