"If at all possible, please stay off roadways until they have been safely cleared," the township says.

The following was provided to Patch by Lower Merion Township:

Lower Merion Township has issued a “Declaration of Emergency,” to take effect at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 21st, and lasting through 4 p.m. Sunday, February 22nd.

Snow is forecast to continue through Saturday evening and into early Sunday morning, with rain mixing in, creating potentially very dangerous road surfaces.

The emergency declaration alerts residents not to park in cul-de-sacs and on emergency snow routes. Residents are reminded to park on the ODD sides of the street in 2015. If you have a driveway, please park there. There is no parking in a cul-de-sac until after plowing is complete.

All residential and commercial sidewalks must be cleared 36 inches in width and within 24 hours of the end of each snowfall. If at all possible, please stay off roadways until they have been safely cleared.
