Main Line Animal Welfare Group Founder To Be Honored Tuesday

Founder and President of PACT for Animals Buzz Miller will be honored at Tuesday's Villanova basketball game for supporting the troops.

GLADWYNE, PA — The founder and president of a Main Line animal welfare organization will be honored Tuesday in Villanova for his commitment to supporting military troops.

Buzz Miller, founder and president of national non-profit animal welfare group PACT for Animals, will be honored for 10 years of support to military troops during the Villanova Basketball Game at Finneran Pavilion.

The game will be televised at 6:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

PACT is also celebrating 10 years of service in the animal welfare community for active-duty military, veterans, and hospitalized individuals.

Since 2010, PACT has been dedicated to keeping pets and their people together by offering fully vetted emergency pet foster homes for animals when their human companions are temporarily unable to care for them.

Through the years, PACT has supported more than 2,000 pets from 49 states.

PACT has kept dogs, cats, rabbits, frogs, hamsters, and even turtles from being unnecessarily abandoned and out of overcrowded shelters by finding loving foster homes while their owners were away.

PACT’s programs help reduce the number of pets surrendered to shelters due to emergency situations.

As the United States prepares thousands of military troops for deployment to areas near Ukraine, PACT has incurred an overwhelming number of requests for long-term foster care for the pets of our military soldiers.

PACT for Animals is a Pennsylvania 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that develops, implements, and administers programs that directly benefit both companion animals and their owners.
