NJCAA Ranks Harcum College Guard Best Shooter in Women's D-II

Philadelphia native Amaris Baker is also named Player of the Week by the NJCAA.

(January 18, 2023) -- (Bryn Mawr, PA) -- Sophomore guard Amaris Baker is lighting it up for the Harcum College Women's Basketball team, currently leading the nation in points per game (28.2), points made (535) , and field goals made (208-370).

She was just named Player of the Week by the NJCAA with with 36 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.

She also set a school record for points in a game with 45, and 78% shooting from the field. Only a couple games into the season, Baker was already lighting up the NJCAA leaderboard in points and points per game stats.

On January 17, Harcum defeated CCBC Essex 72-60 in one of the biggest games in program history. Last evening's win follows a 59-110 thrashing by CCBC Essex when they met earlier in the season on November 9. Last night, Baker had 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists on 10-18 shooting from the field and 6-10 shooting from three-point line to lead the Bears to that victory.

CCBC Essex was ranked first nationally as of January 17. With a loss to Harcum, their record is 17-1 and Harcum's record improves to 18-1. More details on the Harcum v. CCBC Essex game are available on the website.
