Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Chesco, Delco, Montco, Bucks, Philly

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for numerous Pennsylvania counties, including the Philadelphia region.

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Numerous Southeastern Pennsylvania counties, including the five Philadelphia region counties, are under a severe thunderstorm watch.

According to the National Weather Service, the watch is in effect now through 10 p.m. Monday.

Under the watch are Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Below is the current forecast for the region, per the National weather service:

Monday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
