The recent passage of a budget resolution in the House proposes an alarming $880 billion cut to Medicaid over the next decade. This decision stands to dismantle a lifeline that nearly 80 million Americans depend on, including countless children with disabilities, like my own children.
Medicaid provides essential services—medical care, therapies, and support programs—that empower these children to lead fulfilling lives. Slashing its funding not only threatens their health and development but also places an unbearable strain on families already facing significant challenges.
As this bill moves to the Senate, it is imperative that we, as a community, raise our voices in unison. Contact your senators and express your opposition to these harmful cuts. Advocate for the protection of Medicaid and the vulnerable individuals it serves.
This is stepping up for disabled kids, and it’s time to step up.
