Today in Bryn Mawr: Film Institute Screening Hitchcock Classic and More
Happy Wednesday, Bryn Mawr. Here's a primer on what to expect.

"Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress in every society, in every family."
-Kofi Annan
"Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge."
-Plato
"All editors are now required to write a short daily feature for each site that highlights useful facts about what's happening in town that day."
-Patch management
Today is Wednesday, July 24. Below are some facts. Read them, learn them, live them.
- Government: The Lower Merion Administrative and Human Resource Committee, Police Committee, Finance Committee, and Building and Planning Committee are each meeting on Wednesday. For agendas for what promise to be riveting displays of local government in action, click on the relevant links.
- Fun: The green thumbed among us can swing by Ludington Library tonight for a seminar on buying and arranging flowers. If the garden's not your thing, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute is screening Hitchcock masterpiece Psycho at 7 p.m. Sign me up for the latter.
- Traffic: Check out the PennDOT traffic cameras to get a beat on how traffic looks this morning. A prediction: not great.
- Weather: The forecast calls for partial sunshine with a chance of precipitation, and temperatures that top out in the low 80s. And when the sun goes down, you might actually need a sweatshirt.
- History: Per the History Chanel, on this day in 1911, American archeologist Hiram Bingham led a team that discovered the Machu Picchu—a previously "lost" Inca settlement that's since become a popular, and lucrative, Peruvian tourist trap. There's a metaphor in there somewhere, I'm sure.
