Batter Up for Breast Cancer Awareness!

A home run derby will be held at Consol Energy Park—and one local lawmaker wants his team to come out on top again this year.

Baseball season is in full swing and the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition is bringing Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer home run derby events to eight Minor League Baseball Stadiums across the state—including Consol Energy Park.

While grand slams add points to the board, batters of any experience are encouraged to swing for the fences to help the 140,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer in Pennsylvania.

Participating teams donated $500 to participate in the event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the ballpark, which is home to the Washington Wild Things.
