Cecil Police Charge Man With DUI, Carrying Gun without a License and Having Open Beer in Car

Police said officers pulled him over after seeing his vehicle cross the center line of the road. Officers said the man was driving substantially slower than the posted speed limit.

Cecil Township police said a loaded gun and a full can of Milwaukee's Best beer were found during a traffic stop that led to driving under the influence and other charges being filed.

Police said officers were driving behind Jeffrey Schillo, no age or address given, around 7:30 p.m. Monday and noticed that not only did his vehicle cross the center line several times, but he was also traveling 15 mph slower than the posted speed limit.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, at which time Schillo reportedly told police he had consumed four beers earlier.

During a search of the vehicle, officers also found the loaded 40-caliber pistol in the center console and the full beer in the cup holder.

Schillo was placed arrest for suspicion of DUI, and transported to the Cecil Township Police Department, where officers said a breath test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .249.

He was charged with DUI, carrying a firearm without a license and with an open container violation.

The charges will proceed by summons.
