Comments Regarding Hiring Process Raise Ire of Borough Councilman
Councilman Peter Lucas confronted Councilman Paul Sharkady over comments made to Patch about the hiring of the new borough manager.

Councilman Peter Lucas clutched a printed copy of a Canon-McMillan Patch article in his hands when he confronted fellow councilman Paul Sharkady at Monday nightβs council meeting.
Upset over Sharkadyβs comments about the hiring process of borough manager Robert Kipp, Lucas raised his voice angrily when reading a quote from Patch where Sharkady called the hiring process, βunderhanded and sneaky.β Β
βWhen you say underhanded and sneaky that implicates all of us. There was a committee set and I went along with my committee. I donβt like to be named as underhanded. Thatβs my report. I wanted to get that off my chest,β Lucas said.

Sharkady had told Patch he felt that he was not given sufficient time to spend with Kippβs resume. The committee said they did not hand out Kippβs resume sooner due to confidentiality reasons.
Lucas said that had Sharkady raised his concerns over seeing the resume to the search committee, which had been charged with finding a new borough manager, the committee would have gladly gone over the resume with him.
