Drugs and Stolen Firearm Siezed, Canonsburg Teen Faces Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin Charge
Police said the 19-year man will also be charged with hindering apprehension.

A Canonsburg teenager faces charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin and hindering apprehension after a search warrant was executed Wednesday.
Washington County District Attorney Gene Vittone said Washington and North Franklin Township police executed a warrant at the Ramada Inn in the city, where they arrested Mercedes Stamm, 19, of Canonsburg, and Avery Lionel Turner, 22.
Turner, of Washington, was in possession of 184 stamp bags of heroin and a stolen firearm, Vittone said. Stamm was present with Turner at the hotel, he added.
In addition to the charges against Stamm, Turner will be charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin—a felony— and a firearms violation.Â

Vittone said Turner was also wanted by the East Washington Police Department for a kidnapping charge, and by the Washington police for an alleged robbery.Â
Turner was remanded to the Washington County Jail.
The search warrant resulted from cooperative investigations by detectives
in the Pennsylvania State Police, City of Washington Police Department and the Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force, according to Vittone.Â
In unrelated cases, Kevin Brooks, 39, of Eighty Four, was arrested for drug delivery. Leah Brown, 26, of Washington, was also arrested for drug delivery.Â
