UPDATED: Gas Line Hit, Southpointe Boulevard Temporarily Closed

A contractor working in Cecil hit a gas line, forcing the temporary closure of Southpointe Boulevard Friday morning.

First responders said, though, that as of 1:40 p.m., the northbound lanes are restricted to one lane, while the southbound lanes are open.

A Washington 911 supervisor confirmed the temporary closure as crews from People's Gas worked to repair the line.

The incident happened near Technology Drive and the South Point Golf Club.
