Line of Credit, Street Closures Approved by Canonsburg Council

The $650,000 line of credit will ensure there is no disruption to the borough building renovation.

Canonsburg Council this week decided to seek a $650,000 line of credit for its building renovation, which began earlier this month.

The borough has already committed $650,000 to the project, which is being matched by a state grant. But borough Manager Terry Hazlett explained that the grant funding may not be received before the project concludes at the end of the year, prompting a need to secure a line of credit so there is no disruption in the work.

In other business, council took the following action at its meeting this week:

  • Approved new Civil Service Commission regulations for the borough
  • Approved closing Pike Street for events on May 18 and 19, May 27, July 4 and Sept. 19 through 22
  • Approved the sale of property at 119-123 Adams Avenue to Zoom Corp. The property will be used as a parking lot to facilitate an expansion of the adjacent Zoom building
  • Approved construction of a Comtech building addition at the Fort Pitt Business Park·
  • Approved a subdivision of property at the Fort Pitt Business Park, pending owner David Stoehr meeting two conditions—providing a 30-foot right of way through the property and resolving a stormwater issue.
