New Member Formally Joins Council
Canonsburg Mayor David H. Rhome swore in Peter Lucas—Canonsburg Council's newly appointed member.
At its meeting Monday, Canonsburg Mayor David H. Rhome swore in borough council's newest member —Peter Lucas.
Lucas was appointed last month to replace Robert "Mont" Miller.
In a tearful speech, Rhome last month read a letter written by Miller's children asking Canonsburg Council to accept his resignation due to health problems.

The appointment was approved by a 7-1 vote with Councilman Tim Bilsky casting the sole no vote. There was no discussion prior to the vote.
Bilsky said he voted no because of that lack of discussion.
Council in January appointed Miller to replace former Councilman A.J. Williams.
