Oldies Festival Returning to Canonsburg in May

Mark your calendars for this two-day festival that will feature bands, a classic car show and more.

Canonsburg Manager Terry Hazlett described an upcoming two-day festival as "an amalgamation of 'Hot Diggity Dog Days' and the former 'Doowopalooza' festival."

Hazlett confirmed that the community will again be host to the Hot Diggity Dog Days—a festival that was created last year as a one-time event celebrating hometown crooner Perry Como's 100th birthday.

But he said the event exceeded everyone’s expectations in terms of attendance, which caught the attention of America’s Pop Music Hall of Fame committee.

The fund-raising event will include—in addition to oldies bands—a classic car show, food booths, crafts, a children’s area and attractions geared specifically to the 1950s and 1960s eras.

The event will be held May 18 and 19.

American Pie is slated to play at noon on May 19, followed by Sugarcane—a popular band in the area since the '70s—at 3:30 p.m.

Hazlett said the acts planned for May 18 will be announced soon.
